Crown & Bridge

If you are missing one or more teeth, one might notice a difference in chewing & speaking. A bridge is a non-removable way to replace those teeth missing with artificial teeth that literally “bridges” the gap where the teeth used to be by attaching to the adjacent teeth crowns. Which also restores cosmetics, and give the patient back their smile and function.

Tissue Grafting

Gingival recession occurs when the gingival tissues creep down the length of the tooth, exposing the root surfaces and making teeth appear longer or taller. Normal, healthy gum tissue should appear scalloped along the shape of the crowns, with a pointed papilla between each tooth. If the gums have receded, the layer of tooth that should not be exposed to external factors is left uncovered and can be prone to sensitivity, staining, and tooth decay.

Recession can occur due to various factors including periodontal disease, brushing too firmly and/or vigorously, using a toothbrush other than a soft bristled one (anything more than that is too harsh & causing abrasion not only to the tooth structure but the gum tissue as well), acid reflux, tobacco use, genetic predisposition, and accelerated orthodontic treatment.

To recover the root surface of the teeth with new gum tissue is by a procedure of soft tissue grafting, where donor tissue is transferred to the areas of advanced recession.

Zoom Whitening

Zoom! is an in office whitening procedure that is safe, effective, & fast… very fast! This whitening system makes your teeth appear dramatically whiter in just 45 minutes. The system whitens teeth that have become discolored over the years due to:  aging or consumption of staining substances such as coffee, tea, cokes, tobacco, red wine, etc.  Zoom! is perfect for anyone look for immediate results, as they are seen before even walking out of the office.

Dental Implants are the new standard of care when it comes to tooth replacement. They bond with healthy bone and provide permanent support for dental crowns and/or dentures.  Dental implants look & feel like natural teeth & can last a lifetime. A missing tooth can be replaced by dental implant without touching the adjacent teeth. Dental implants & implant retained teeth will help minimize the amount of bone that would be lost in the areas of the missing teeth, helping to preserve natural facial contours. Dental implants are also great to anchor those hard to wear dentures and often times eliminate the need for denture adhesives.

After an implant is placed, 3-4 months later to allow the implant to integrate with the bone, a post (or abutment) is attached providing support for your final crown.

Extraction & Bone Grafting

Bone grafting is used to prepare a site for dental implants that are needed to replace a missing tooth or teeth. Bone, in an area were teeth have been lost, naturally shrinks or resorbs over time. As a result, new bone must be grafted in order to create a perfect site for placing implants, as it aids your body in regenerating lost bone. A prime example is when extraction is needed to remove a tooth, after a removal there is an empty socket left, bone grafting is then needed to fill the socket & grow bone over the next 3 to 4 months. After growth the site is now ready for implant placement.

Removable Partials & Implant Supported Over Dentures

Besides implants or bridgework, another solution to replace missing teeth, often several at a time, is through partials. Partials are made up of one or more porcelain teeth attached to acrylic that is gum tissue color that has clasps that hook on to other teeth. Partials are used to restore your smile, and allows the patient to chew more easily & with greater comfort; providing the patient with cosmetics and function.

Dentures are used to replace whole arch dentitions, with two types being regular dentures and overdentures. Regular dentures are especially great for the upper arch of a patient because of the suction from the palate. However, the lowers rarely stay put because of the horseshoe design of the lower arch. Thus is a case for an overdenture, which is implant supported denture that “snaps” into place by use of locators or a gold bar. This stabilizes the denture holding it firmly in place without the need for denture adhesives. Dentures are also used to provide the patient cosmetics of replacement of teeth along with the chewing power needed to eat & digest foods.

Crowns are perfect way to help restore a beautiful smile, as it is used to cover teeth that are discolored or badly shaped by restoring the teeth to a normal color, shape, & size. A crown can help strengthen a tooth with a large filling when there is not enough tooth remaining to hold the filling, or decay prevents a filling from being able to fix it. Crowns can also be used to protect a weak tooth from breaking especially after endodontic treatment or restore one that is already broken.

Sleep Apnea

Obstructive sleep apnea causes a person’s airway to close during sleep, depriving them of oxygen and interrupting normal sleep patterns. Obstructive Sleep Apnea can cause sleepiness during the daytime and serious health issues, including high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke. Dr. Carl Findley has attended several advanced seminars on this topic, including the detrimental effects from a medical standpoint.

While the CPAP is the gold standard, many people cannot wear it. The Moses appliance that we offer can help in many cases. Research has shown that treatment with an oral appliance can be as effective as a CPAP machine. Dr. Findley personally wears an appliance to help him with his diagnosed mild to moderate sleep apnea. It’s very comfortable and very beneficial.
